GENERAL INFORMATION ON LITTLE LEAGUE LEVELS 

Little League International has certain rules on what ages can play the various levels of
Little League Baseball. Little League also provides local leagues with the authority to
change these rules or break down age groups beyond what Little League requires.

For the most part, this is how Penns Valley Little League (PVLL) and surrounding
league’s structure their players-

5&6 years old – T-Ball
7&8 years old – Rookie (also called Coach-Pitch)
9 thru 12 years old – Minor or Major Division

Exception - Rules state that a 6 year old may be move to Rookie as long as they played
T-Ball for one year.

PVLL may place players according to their skill and ability level rather then strictly their
age. For example, a child with a disability at age 7 may play T-Ball for safety reasons or
a skilled 9 year old may go directly to the Major Division and by-pass Minors to advance
their learning.
